To date, over 2,000 individuals have attended at least one of our weekly rehearsals amassing more than 15,000 hours of cultural enrichment. In addition to presenting concerts at The Stewpot and the newly-built amphitheater adjacent to The Stewpot, the Dallas Street Choir has performed at the Winspear Opera House, the Dallas City Performance Hall, the George W. In June 2017, the Dallas Street Choir made history when it became the first musical ensemble comprised those experiencing homelessness to perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall. In 2018, the ensemble was invited to perform for the Texas Choral Directors Association statewide convention in San Antonio and, in 2019, the choir traveled to Kansas City to sing at the American Choral Directors Association National Conference.

KANSAS with 38 Special
Carry on … to WinStar. For KANSAS!
If you’re making a list of the iconic rock bands of the last half-century, one group leaves others like “Dust in the Wind.” Don’t miss KANSAS at WinStar’s Global Event Center on Saturday, August 31 at 7:00 PM, with doors opening at 5:30 PM.
This “little garage band” from Topeka released their first album 45 years ago, which went on to sell more than 30 million copies. Since then, their 14 studio and five live discs that followed have produced eight gold albums, a platinum live album and three sextuple-platinum albums: Leftoverture, Point of Know Return and Best of KANSAS. They also generated a couple of million-selling gold singles: “Carry On Wayward Son” (still one of the top five songs on classic rock radio) and “Dust in the Wind,” a song that has been played on the radio more than three million times.
Today, the band has reached a new generation of fans through their unmistakable presence on the popular video games “Rock Band” and “Guitar Hero,” plus hit songs popping up on television shows like “Supernatural” and “South Park,” as well as films such as “Old School” and “Anchorman.”
Joining KANSAS are the “Wild-Eyed Southern Boys” of 38 Special, for a night of double-big hits and a big-time evening to remember.
Mike Morgan and the Crawl
@
–
Mike Morgan and The Crawl found a national audience with the release of their debut recording, Raw & Ready, in 1990. Backed up by extensive national and international touring, Mike Morgan and The Crawl continued to amaze their fans throughout the 1990s by releasing five highly regarded albums, Mighty Fine Dancin, Full Moon Over Dallas, Ain’t Worried No More, Looky Here!, The Road and I Like The Way You Work It. Morgan even kept a high profile during some down time away from the band in 1994 by recording Let The Dogs Run, a highly acclaimed record that paired him with fellow Dallas guitarist Jim Suhler.
Meanwhile praise for Morgan and the band came flooding in. Guitar World Magazine called Morgan “a genuine blues guitar hero!!”
Blues Access Magazine raved, “Mike Morgan and the Crawl crank up an irrepressible of fresh gritty blues and romping Stax/Volt-era soul.”
In 2000 Texas Man, Mike’s first vocal outing was released on Severn Records. Texas Man met rave reviews and was followed up in 2004 by “ Live in Dallas.”
2007 saw the release of the most current CD, Stronger Every Day. Stronger Every Day was released by Seven Records and has guest appearances by Lee McBee and Randy McAllister.

Vince Gill Live at WinStar World Casino Resort
One night only with Vince Gill!
August 16, 2019, 9 pm, Global Event Center
He has recorded more than 20 studio albums, charted over 40 singles on the Billboard charts and sold more than 26 million albums. He’s won 18 CMA Awards, including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist awards. Vince Gill has also earned 21 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country music artist. In 2007 he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and in 2016 he was inducted into the Guitar Center Rock Walk by Joe Walsh of the Eagles. Not bad for an Oklahoma boy. Now catch musical legend Vince Gill at the Global Event Center on August 16.
For years, Vince Gill has been known for his award-winning songwriting, world-class guitar playing and top-notch voice—not to mention his quick and easy wit. In 1990, Gill’s big breakthrough, “When I Call Your Name,” won both the Country Music Association’s Single and Song of the Year awards as well as a Grammy. And the hit songs kept coming year after year, from “I Still Believe In You,” “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” Pretty Little Adriana” to “If You Ever Have Forever On Your Mind.” A versatile songwriter, his compositions earned him a place in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.
Gill was a frontman for the renowned country-rock band Pure Prairie League as well as a member of the Grammy-winning band The Time Jumpers. He has also used his studio talents to produce albums for LeAnn Rimes, Amy Grant and Ashley Monroe, while making appearances on more than 1,000 albums, working with Barbra Streisand, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, George Jones and other musical superstars.
In 2017, Gill was invited to join the Eagles for an extended tour, to perform the lead vocals once sung by the late Glenn Frey. And Gill’s latest album, “Down To My Last Bad Habit,” was released to rave reviews. Don’t miss this Entertainer of the Year in the event of a lifetime. It’s Vince Gill at WinStar’s Global Event Center on August 16.

Doug Moreland captures a light-hearted take on the seriousness of life, with his traditional styling of fiddles, upright bass, mandolin, and guitar. His styling still gathers influence from the western swing of Bob Wills and the easy-going spirit of Jimmy Buffett, mixed with humor the likes of Roger Miller. In his meanderings, Doug discovered a financial & promotional spur for his musical career through chainsaw carving! Self-taught, with a bit of background whittling small pieces as a child alongside his father. Doug has received a Will Rogers Cowboy Award for Western Music Male Performer of the Year from the Academy of Western Artists. He also received an Entertainer of the Year award from the Texas Music Awards. Doug’s tour has extended from the state of Texas, western across the country and even to Europe. The band has performed with well-established acts such as Willie Nelson, Asleep At The Wheel, Robert Earl Keen, Dean Dillon, Canadian Country Music star Corb Lund, and folk-rocker Ryan Bingham. Doug has also made guest appearances in a handful of films, most notably the 2012 Richard Linklater film Bernie along with Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine. Doug also appeared on the Jay Leno show, Animal Planet, and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not.

Johnny Sansone continues to be recognized by
The Blues Foundation in numerous categories
for his outstanding talent.
He’s been nominated at the
2012 BLUES MUSIC AWARDS:
Song of the Year: The Lord is Waiting (winner)
Contemporary Blues Male Artist
Contemporary Blues Album
Album of the Year.
Nominated in 2013 for Song of the Year:
The Night the Pie Factory Burned Down
and Best Contemporary Blues Artist.
Nominated for 2013 Offbeat BEST OF THE BEAT Awards:
Best Harmonica Player, Best Blues Artist, Best Blues Release for the album Once It Gets Started, and Song of the Year for The Night the Pie Factory Burned Down.
Johnny started out early playing music. His father, a saxophonist who’d been in Dave Brubeck’s band during World War II, introduced him to the saxophone at age 8. Johnny picked up the guitar and harmonica by the time he was 10, and had a life changing experience at 12 when he saw a Howlin’ Wolf show in Florida. That was the moment the young Sansone knew he was destined to play the blues as his lifetime vocation. He sat in with Honeyboy Edwards at 13. During the 1970s Sansone studied with blues harmonica legends James Cotton and Jr. Wells. In the 1980s he toured with Ronnie Earl, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Rodgers and Robert Lockwood Jr.
Sansone led the life of an itinerant bluesman, traveling around the country from temporary bases in Colorado, Austin, Florida and Chicago before settling down in New Orleans in 1990. As leader of Jumpin’ Johnny & the Blues Party, Sansone played harmonica and guitar in the fierce Mississippi delta blues style heard on his 1987 debut Where Y’at? and his1991 release Mister Good Thing.
Living in New Orleans brought a swamp rock tinge to his gruff vocals and emotional playing style, and after attending a wake for Zydeco pioneer Clifton Chenier Sansone started playing accordion as well. By the time of 1996’s Crescent City Moon Sansone had developed into a full fledged Louisiana artist, combining blues, boogie and the frontporch Cajun and Zydeco sounds of the Louisiana bayou country.
Crescent City Moon won multiple Best of the Beat awards that year and Sansone was signed to Rounder Records’ Bullseye Blues subsidiary, which also released his 1999 followup Watermelon Patch. During the early ‘00s Sansone played in a variety of settings, including a trio with pianist Joe Krown and guitarist John Fohl which released a recording in 2004.
At the beginning of 2005 Sansone joined the Voice of the Wetlands Allstars, a group of Louisiana bandleaders who wanted to draw attention to the disappearing wetlands and the destruction of the Louisiana coastline. By the time the record was released later that year New Orleans was underwater – the city flooded when its levee system broke down under the onslaught of the flood surge accompanying hurricane Katrina. “The record was designed to be a warning about what might happen,” said Sansone. “Then it became a matter of I-told-you-so.”
Sansone was forced from his home when New Orleans was depopulated in the months after the flood and went on tour with the Voice of the Wetlands Allstars. He developed a lasting friendship with fellow VOW member Anders Osborne and began writing great songs about the Louisiana experience tempered by the emotions of watching the city being destroyed and slowly returning to life. Osborne produced Sansone’s next album, the 2007 release Poor Man’s Paradise. Sansone reached a new level of songwriting skills on this record, and the title track became a staple of the Voice of the Wetlands live performances.
In 2009 Sansone formed an acoustic trio with Osborne and guitarist John Fohl. The idea was they would play a regular Tuesday night show at Chickie Wah Wah to work on new songs. It was an explosive period of creativity for Osborne, who developed the songs on his masterful American Patchwork album during these sessions. But it was also a time of creative breakthroughs for Sansone, who wrote the breathtaking blues “The Lord Is Waiting and the Devil is Too” during these sessions. That song became the title track of his next album, another Osborne-produced venture. To this day it’s hard for Sansone to get through a gig without a fan calling out for “that Devil song!” “The Lord Is Waiting and the Devil is too” was named Song of the Year at the Blues Music Awards.
Sansone continued to pen his unique brand of Louisiana story songs on his next album, Once It gets Started, which featured a memorable account of the fire that destroyed the Hubig’s Pie factory, “The Night the Pie Factory Burned Down.” His latest release, Lady On the Levee, another Osborne production, this time featuring Fohl as well as Jefferey Bridges on bass, Rob Lee on drums, Joe Cabral on baritone saxophone and Ivan Neville on keyboards.
The album rocks with the powerful boogie of “OZ Radio,” a tribute to New Orleans roots music radio station WWOZ. Sansone’s howling, rip-through-the-plaster voice and deep grooved harmonica riffs are the main attractions, but hard core fans will appreciate the wit and wisdom of his character songs, Louisiana stories like the title track, “Gertrude’s Property Line” and “One Of Us,” (“he ain’t no tourist attraction/he’s one of us”). This is Sansone’s most personal album as well. You can hear him struggling with some deep emotions on songs like “I’m Still Here” “Lightning Bug Rhodes” and “Tomato Wine.”
Johnny’s newest recording, HOPELAND, was produced by Anders Osborne, and features the North Mississippi Allstars. Offbeat Magazine’s review of HOPELAND praises Johnny for his instrumental prowess, particularly on harmonica and accordion, as well as his songwriting and bandleader talent. “… The energy level peaks so hard it could easily fly off the rails, but the perfectly balanced production from Osborne, and the finishing touches from Trina Shoemaker’s superb mixing, keep the buzz and distortion from turning into a train wreck. That’s how you catch lightning in a bottle.”
HOPELAND was the top selling record at Louisiana Music Factory during 2018 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Sugarland live at Winstar World Casino Resort
Sugarland Live at WinStar World Casino Resort August 3, 2019
Grammy Award-winning Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are regularly reinventing their musical visions while staying true to the sound and impassioned songwriting that made them one of country music’s most famous duos. And now Sugarland storms the Global Event Center stage on August 3.
In 2004, these Georgia natives recorded and released their first multi-platinum album, “Twice the Speed of Light,” along with their breakthrough single, “Baby Girl.” Since then, they’ve written some of country’s most popular songs, including “All I Want to Do,” “Stay” and “Stuck Like Glue.” In total, Sugarland has earned seven No. 1 singles and collected more than 330 million on-demand streams. Their critical and mainstream appeal has translated into multiple industry accolades: five consecutive CMA Awards for Vocal Duo of the Year, five ACM Awards (including Song of the Year and Single of the Year) and Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and Best Country Song for “Stay.”
In June 2018, Sugarland released their first project in nearly six years, a new album titled “Bigger.” The 11-song set features the new hit single, “Babe,” which features Taylor Swift. What’s more, they received standing ovations in the UK during performances at the C2C: Country to Country festival and rave reviews for their Still The Same Tour last year, which covered 48 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Their next stop: the Global Event Center, August 3.

Chicago – Rock and Roll with the Horns
2019 marks Chicago’s 52nd consecutive year of touring, without missing a single tour date. Come see these legends rock the WinStar Global Event Center stage at 9:00 PM on Friday, August 2, with doors opening at 7:30 PM.
Ticketmaster (single seating is available – you will be solo)
The Billboards charts cite Chicago as the second most successful American rock band ever. But they started with humble beginnings in 1969 as the Chicago Transit Authority. Their debut album was a double LP, a rare feat for any band getting their start. After that album went platinum, the band shortened their name to Chicago and the rest, as they say, is history.
After 50 years of creating music that blends genres like rock, pop, jazz and R&B, this group is still performing sold-out shows around the world. Nearly every Chicago song is a hit, but if you head to the Global Event Center on August 2, you’ll be hearing chart-toppers like “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday in the Park” and “Hard to Say I’m Sorry.” From the signature sound of the Chicago horns, their iconic vocalists and a few dozen ever-classic singles, this band’s concerts are celebrations of a musical style that few can replicate.

Billy Ocean Live at WinStar World Casino Resort
Get ready for an Ocean of hits.
One of the most popular British R&B singer-songwriters of all time—selling over 30 million records—makes his way to the Global Event Center stage on July 27. It’s Billy Ocean, one night only.
Ocean has collected a mountain of gold and platinum records, while hitting No. 1 on pop charts from the US and UK to Australia, Germany and Holland. Born in Trinidad, Billy’s family moved to London’s East End when he was seven years old and he immediately migrated to the sound of soul singers like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, as well as pop groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
Billy’s first break was recording the Motown-influenced single, “Love Really Hurts Without You,” which reached No. 2 in the UK charts. Two Top 20 singles would follow, “Love on Delivery” and “Stop Me,” before “Red Light Spells Danger” became a smash in the UK and across the pond in the US.
And the hits kept coming. First, the million-selling, No. 1 single, “Caribbean Queen” (for which Billy won a Grammy for best R&B Vocal Performance), followed by “Loverboy” and “Suddenly.” A year later, Billy recorded “When the Going Gets Tough (The Tough Get Going),” as the theme song for the hit movie “Jewel of the Nile,” starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito.
Billy then launched the “Love Zone” album, which stayed in the Top 40 for six months and produced another No. 1 single with “There’ll be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry).” What followed was his classic smash hit, “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car,” before he began a worldwide tour to ever-growing audiences.
After huge accolades and success, Billy took a break to spend time with his growing family, but in 2007 he felt the itch again and hit the road to perform hit after hit nightly. Since then, he’s recorded new albums, released a greatest hits package and continued to tour the globe—and now he’s at the WinStar Global Event Center on July 27.
The O’Jays
Join in! On the Love Train!
Whether it’s their R&B, soul, pop, funk or disco sound, we all know the anthems that have moved us for more than four decades: “Love Train,” “For The Love of Money,” “Livin’ for the Weekend,” “Family Reunion,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “I Love Music,” “Cry Together…” And now the O’Jays are bringing their biggest hits to the Global Event Center stage on July 26.
Two iconic voices — the powerful Eddie Levert and the silky-smooth Walter Williams, Sr., both founding members of The O’Jays in 1958 — are so unmistakable that their hits are now landmarks in pop culture consciousness.
The O’Jays made their first chart appearance with “Lonely Drifter,” but they reached supreme success once a team of producers and songwriters, Gamble & Huff, signed them to their label in 1972. That’s when The O’Jays emerged at the forefront of Philly soul with their album “Back Stabbers” and topped the Billboard Hot 100 the following year with “Love Train.” And the hits kept coming through the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, with 10 number one singles, 10 gold and nine platinum albums. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004, as well as The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the following year.
Now The O’Jays are releasing their first new music in 15 years, what they are calling their final album, “The Last Word.” The disc was produced by the Grammy-nominated trio of Steve Greenberg, Mike Mangini and R&B legend Betty Wright (the producers behind Joss Stone’s “Soul Sessions”), along with the songwriter and rock/pop mastermind Sam Hollander (Panic! at the Disco, Weezer, Neon Trees).
Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to see modern musical giants and groove to the timeless sound of The O’Jays, at the WinStar Global Event Center on July 26.
