Texoma Sailing Club is planning on having 12.5 and 25 mile races.
Over the years this has become one of the most popular races hosted by TSC. The WUNDERLICK CLASSIC is named after Tommy Wunderlick, who was one of the founding members of the TEXOMA SAILING CLUB. He believed that TSC needed a distance race and decided to put one together with a distance of 50 miles, followed by breakfast and awards the following morning. After finishing this first race, he suffered a fatal heart attack on the gas dock. The event was renamed in memory of him.
In keeping with the true spirit of the origin of the race, the WUNDERLICK CLASSIC is still an overnight event, giving us inland sailors some feel of offshore racing, where navigation and the ability to stay focused usually pays big dividends. Of course, if you like to race casually, it has become a great social event; race as long as you want & turn-in.
