Southeastern Oklahoma State University will present its annual Candle-lighting ceremony and concert on Monday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. The event, held in Montgomery Auditorium, is free and open to the public.
This will be the 99th edition of Candle Lighting, the longest running annual tradition on campus.
The Southeastern Symphonic Chorus anchors the event, and this year they are pleased to welcome additional performances by the Southeastern Symphonic Winds, the Southeastern Chorale, the Durant High School Varsity Mixed Chorus, and the SHARE chorus. Members of the Cardinal Key Honor Society will light the candles. Dr. Alicia Wallace and Dr. Jeremy Blackwood will join a chamber orchestra and the Symphonic Chorus for a performance of Franz Schubert’s Mass in G, and the assembled musicians and audience will join us in a festival carol singalong at the conclusion of the event.
Candle Lighting is directed by Dr. Josh Nannestad.
