If it weren’t for birds\, how many of us would take notice of the natural world?  Birds are all around us.  In our back yards or driving across country\, most of the animals we see are birds.  Many birds entertain us with their cheery songs.  Some birds hunt on the wing\, and you’ll see one if you watch the sky.  They sometimes fly in large flocks.  Birds are unavoidable.  And – imagine a world without the sweet sounds of beautiful songbirds.  Come join us on February 15 for a free class to learn all about our beautiful backyard birds. Sign up on the Friends of Hagerman Facebook page.  Go to the Refuge Rocks event and sign up there using Eventbrite.  Please register children only. They reveal a history without humans!   \nWho: Fossils\, A Journey into the Past! is opened to anyone who likes learning about natural history and making plaster replicas of fossils.. When: Saturday\, August 17 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  \nWhere: Cedar Hollow Pavilion  \nExpect to: Learn about the ammonite and other fossils that our park protects. Also\, learn how to make a plaster replica of an ammonite!  \nWhat to Bring: Water! Don’t forget to apply sunscreen\, and bug spray before coming out.  \nProgram free with paid park admission. Park admission is $5 per person 13 years of age and older.
