The WUNDERLICK CLASSIC is named after Tommy Wunderlick\, who was one of the founding members of the TEXOMA SAILING CLUB. He believed that TSC needed a distance race and decided to put one together with a distance of 50 miles\, followed by breakfast and awards the following morning. After finishing this first race\, he suffered a fatal heart attack on the gas dock. The event was renamed in memory of him. \nIn keeping with the true spirit of the origin of the race\, the WUNDERLICK CLASSIC is still an overnight event\, giving us inland sailors some feel of offshore racing\, where navigation and the ability to stay focused usually pays big dividends.
