SUMMARY:An Evening of Mysteries

First Lady Cece O’Day switches into “summer reading mode” as she welcomes a little space in her schedule for leisure reading. \nIn August\, she invites area women to join Austin College’s Women Get Connected group at The President’s Home for “An Evening of Mysteries” to discuss the genre and share some of her top picks. The event\, on August 6\, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.\, costs $15 and includes hors d’oevres and wine. The President’s Home is at 921 N. Grand Avenue in Sherman. \n “Mysteries are my favorites! A successful mystery has to provide all of the context so you learn a lot about the setting—both time period and location. I am a re-read–even of mysteries. I may know the solution already\, but I want to visit the characters\,” she said. Some of her favorite mystery authors include Dorothy Sayers\, Agatha Christie\, Anne Perry\, and Austin College alumna Deborah Crombie ’76. \nTexoma Women Get Connected brings together women who support Austin College and celebrate the College’s legacy of global education\, leadership\, and service. They meet to exchange ideas\, network\, and empower women by supporting education.
