DESCRIPTION:The Magnolia Festival of Oklahoma has been held since 1997 in Durant and promises plenty of family fun throughout its three-day span. The event is hosted at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant beginning the Thursday following Memorial Day. The 2019 Magnolia Festival celebrates its 23rd year – May 30-June 1 with the Carnival opening a night early on May 29.\nVendors ranging from information booths to unique arts\, crafts and food will line the floor of the Choctaw Event Center. Activities include the Texoma Arts Association Art Show & Sale\, the Choctaw Nation Princess Pageant\, Choctaw Dancers and the Magnolia Theatre featuring family-friendly entertainment. The Magnolia Festival also features festivities like an outdoor carnival\, Magnolia 5k & Fun Run\, free children’s activities\, fireworks and more. Additional parking is available nearby at the Armadillo Hill restrooms. The hike will be about a mile and a half there and back.\nWhat to bring: Appropriate footwear and plenty of water. Don’t forget to put on the sunblock and bug spray before you come out.
